PS3 Jailbreak: How it works

Last week we announced the world’s first PlayStation 3 hack that allows gamers to play back-ups, the PS Jailbreak. Now we will show exactly how this thing works and how easy is to use.
Things you need:
- A PlayStation 3 console with 3.41 firmware (SLIM or FAT, any region, doesn’t matter because the PS Jailbreak supports all of them)
- PS Jailbreak USB device
- USB stick
- The original PS3 game you wish to backup.
- An external USB HDD formatted to FAT32
Step 1: Download Backup Manager from this link and copy it on the USB stick.
Step 2: Power off your console. If you have the FAT model you can use the power switch on the back of your console. The SLIM model needs to be unplugged from the power outlet.
Step 3: Insert PS Jailbreak into one of your console’s USB ports. Make sure you don’t have any other USB devices connected at this time!
Step 4: Power on the console and then quickly press the eject button. The PS Jailbreaks has two leds, red and green. If the red light appears, it means that you haven’t pressed the eject button at the right time so you must power off the PS3 and try again. When the green light is on, the PS Jailbreak is working and you can continue with the next step.
Step 5: Insert the USB stick with Backup Manager downloaded on it. On main menu go to “Game”, then “Install Package Files” and select to install Backup Manager (you’ll make this step just once). When the installation is done, scroll down the game menu and you will see the Backup Manager application. Click on it.
Step 6: Insert into the drive your licensed game that you wish to backup. If you want to backup to the external HDD insert it now. Press O button to backup a game. Then you will be asked if you want to backup to the external HDD. Select “no” if you wish to backup the game on PS3’s internal hard drive (especially needed for games with files over 4GB that can’t be backed up on the external FAT32 HDD). Copying a game on the internal HDD will also be much faster.
Step 7: To play a backed up game, insert any original game into the drive (you must leave one game in the drive to access your backups). Now choose the game you want to load from backup manager and press X.
Step 8: You will be taken back to the main menu. In Game Menu you will see the game you have selected from Backup Manager. Now you can play it without having the disk in the drive. Enjoy!

How about a a tech guide on how it actually bypasses the PS3 security, that would be more interesting.

- PS Jailbreak USB device?
Would we need to purchase this item or will the ubs thumbdrive with the Manager.pkg put inside it be all we need ?

ok, fine…
All these are about playing an original game.
The issue here, is IF it is possible to play a downloadable game.
Step 1: We’r download a game from ….com
Step 2: Unrar it
Step 3: Up to now, there are 2 forms..
A) ISO’s – B) BCES or BLES etc…
Step 4: If we try to write a game (at any form) the ps3 does NOT recognize it.
Step 5: If we try to transfer it via an external hdd (usb), ps3 does NOT recognize it.
Step 6: If we try to transfer it via usb stick (up to 4 gb), although it’s in FAT32, ps3 does NOT recognize it.
Step 7: We’r going to the local video club, for rent the desired title and it is always already given elswhere, or it’s only for sale (as it happens with PES2011 for example).
Step 8: We start crying (!) for giving those money for nothing…
Step 9: After that, we’r surfing the net, trying to find any help, but noth…
&
Step 10: We’r throwing out of the window, our ps3, cause we do not have any money for buying the upcoming GT5…
*If that story is about making LEGAL copies of our games, it’s a waste of time!
We know that, for about 15 years…

FOR EVERYBODY!!!
EXTERNAL HDD– Use fat 32 formatted,if exFat use” Swiss army Knife” format tool(google it) or something similar to format it fat 32.
PUT GAME FILES TO HDD root:/GAMEZ/
GAMEZ with big letters.
Thats it. Open manager will recognize.
External hdd or if you don’t have use ftp to copy these files to PS3′s internal harddrive.
If you use Open Manager 1.161 U have to put your folder, example BLES00456 folder, to the example root/GAMEZ/BLES00456 folder by EXTERNAL harddrive.
Or not so difficult use Filezilla on windows, Ftp server on ps3.
Ftp server.pkg have to be installed on ps3.
FTp server give you ip address after best way wired connection(DO NOT UPDATE).
in Filezilla-go–Site manager… ip address=Host ( example Host 192.168.1.107)
Logon- normal
User : FTPD12345 its needed
password : nothing need here
by Transfer settings tab- limit number of sim. conn. write 1.
All other automatic settings.
Thats it.
After connected ,copy BLES00456 folder with the 2 folder and 1 file to HDD0/game/OmanXXXXX/GAMEZ/
or HDD0/Game/OmanXXXX/ not remember now.
Thats it.

Question
what if wen you pick the game from manger and back on main menu, the game is not there and nothing in “app ps3game” foler? anyone what have i done wrong? please HELP!!!
