Verizon assures plenty of Droid Xs available for today’s Release date

Worried about the recent difficulties some smartphones faced lately with orders that exceeded the carriers’ supplies, Verizon Wireless decided not to make the same mistake with their upcoming Droid X as they did with the Droid Incredible and spoke up to assure everyone thinking about getting an X that there will be no problems with honoring the customers’ demands and orders.

Lately, many potential customers looking for specific smartphones were pretty disappointed and woke up leaving stores empty-handed with nothing more than a promise that they’ll be able to get their hands on the coveted phones in a matter of weeks or even months. These kinds of problems were seen with the much expected Apple iPhone 4 for instance, which had an amazing number of preorders and soon woke up with an empty stock. The iPhone 4 has met some difficulties also with preorders in some countries due to some server crashes. HTC’s Evo 4G which is about to receive the Froyo update, has also faced these problems and Sprint Nextel turned out empty handed and had to declare the Evo phones as being sold out indefinitely. Verizon Wireless had the displeasure to face the embarrassment of delaying orders for the Droid Incredible with at least a month because of stock shortages. However, Verizon is allowing users who preordered the device to change their orders to Droid X orders since the Droid X is so close to being released.

Motorola Droid X

Verizon Wireless felt the need to assure the public they won’t make the same mistake twice and there won’t be problems with meeting the demands for the Droid X as we’ve seen with the Incredible. The Motorola Droid X has its release today, July 15, and we’ve been able to learn from BGR that Verizon will provide 50-100 Droid X handsets for every store with about 30000 or more per warehouse being prepared to be sent towards the stores if needed. The Droid X is an Android-based smartphone which runs the 2.1 version of the operating system. The phone will go on sale starting today for the price of $199, after $100 rebate with a 2-year contract. If you want more specs about this smartphone, we’ve been able to gather some details on the Droid X a while ago. Feel free to check it out.

Nope… no phones available unless you pre ordered your phone on June 23rd.. at least in SC… I have called all verizon stores after the customer service guy I worked with lied to me and told me he had pre ordered and held two back .. no phones no pre order.. claims now he could not pre order so don’t expect to walk in and buy a phone and leave with a phone .. you can order a phone and might get it next week

I was at the store at 10:45 this morning and they were all gone unless I ‘reserved’ one. The same thing with the Incredible. Wonder what generation I’ll have to wait for in order to actually acquire a new phone? I’m annoyed!
