A great majority of us have smartphones and use them daily. We call each other, send and receive messages, videos, pictures, and other content. But, no matter how much we rely on them and how often we use them, there are still some rather important functions we don’t know how to use. For example, it turns out that most of us don’t know how to underline text on android phones? In this article, we are going to analyze this and several other features people have problems finding on their smart devices. Once again, we are going to prove that no matter how much you know, you can always learn more. So read on!
How to Underline Text on Android?
Whether you want to underline words in MS documents, or you wonder how to underline in text messages, you should know that the procedure is pretty much the same. You need to do the following:
- Type some words or the entire text.
- Tap on the word you want to underline.
- Select the format option.
- Press U in the menu that appears at the bottom of your screen.
If you ever decide to remove the underline from the same piece of text, you should repeat the process in reverse. First, select the text you want to remove the underline from. Then tap on the Format button. And tap on the U button to remove the underline. As you can see, you are not back to square one, and your text is no longer underlined. The procedure remains the same for most other formatting options as well.
How to Type an Underscore on an Android Phone?
Many people also have problems finding other similar functions such as italicizing, bolding, or typing and underscore. To type an underscore in a text message on an android phone, you should first tap on the textbox. When your cursor is inside the textbox and the keyboard is active, tap on the button that switches to the numerical keyboard (?123). After that, all you have to do is to tap on the _ button which is right under number four. In case you decide to delete the underscore, you can do so just like you do with any other symbol.
What if I’m Using a Computer?
In case you are using a computer, things aren’t much more complicated. First of all, you should highlight the text you want to manipulate using your computer mouse. Then, you have two different options. You can either click the U button in the toolbar at the top of your screen, or you can use the well-known keyboard shortcut (which is CTRL + U). And, as you are probably guessing, to remove the underline, you should repeat the steps in reverse. Also, keep in mind that if you choose the first option, you will have to tell your computer when to stop underlining the text as well. Otherwise, it will continue to underline the text forever.
Explore the Toolbar
You will find a wide range of different editing options in your toolbar, and you should make sure you know at least the most important ones. You bold, italicize, underline, and paint your text with just a few clicks. As you will soon see yourself, modern android phones are rather powerful machines.
