The latest operating system from Apple’s laboratories has just landed last night. The iPhone OS 4 beta 4 is currently free to download for those who have an Apple iPhone Developer Program account. This version can be installed on your current iPhone 3GS but it takes a little practice to do it without ending up with a bricked phone.
What does the iPhone OS 4 beta brings to our humble world? Well, the main feature is the AT&T internet tethering option. That means you can now use the iPhone as modem for your PC / Notebook / MAC and connect to the internet with it. Also, The OS has been installed to several phone and for those of you that do not see this option, the solution is a quick network settings reset.
It seems Apple is rushing things out, as we approach the rumored June 7 release date for the iPhone 4G rapidly approaches. Oh, and one minor thing to say. You cannot get access to multitasking with the iPhone 4 OS beta 4 installed on your current iPhone 3GS.
