HTC’s Plans For Upcoming Devices (HTC Flyer, Incredible S, Salsa and ChaCha)

MWC marked a very busy last week for HTC as the company announced some new developments. If you’re waiting for these newly-announced HTC Android phones (not to mention the HTC Flyer tablet) in your location, you will now you know where to look.

Starting with the United States: according to Mobilized, AT&T will soon offer HTC phones similar to the “Facebook phones” ChaCha and Salsa (pictured below). If those phones are anything like ChaCha and Salsa, then they might exhibit the same specs including their candybar form factor. The ChaCha has a 2.6-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Salsa, on the other hand, has a 3.4 HVGA touchscreen display, and completely foregoes a physical keyboard. These phones are called “Facebook phones,” because they offer Facebook integration, which makes it easier for users to share things on the FB web site.

Next up, the HTC Flyer is landing in Canada at Telus. The Flyer is a tablet announced this Mobile World Congress, with a rumored March Release Date. It has a 7-inch screen with a 1024×600 resolution, a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera, HSPA connectivity, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the option to upgrade to Honeycomb (Google’s “unofficial tablet OS”).

Meanwhile, the newly-announced Desire S, Wildfire S, and ChaCha are heading to the UK through Vodafone and Orange. Desire S has a 4-inch touchscreen display, 8MP camera, and is equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm processor. It runs on Android 2.4 Honeycomb OS. HTC Wildfire S has a 3.2-inch display, 600MHz processor, and a 5MP camera. Still in the UK, O2 and Three UK will also carry Desire S. HTC Flyer will be available in the UK through Three, as well.

While the aforementioned phones will be distributed through various carries, Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy get monopoly of the HTC Incredible S. The Incredible S that was also launched this Mobile World Congress has a 4-inch display, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, a whopping 8MB camera with HD capture capacity.
