Yet another Windows Phone 7 device emerges right in time for a holiday. Well, that is if you don’t mind giving your friends a printed pre-order of the Dell Venue Pro. That’s right, finally, after customers waited patiently for Dell’s smartphone to come out, it’s almost here. An unlocked version of the device is now available for pre-order at Amazon for the price of £499.
The Dell Venue Pro can be expected to hit the T-Mobile network, at the same time with 3 other smartphones, all of them running Windows Phone 7, that will come in AT&T stores, on November 8th. Even more, on the same day, it can also be expected in the UK.
Enough about release dates, and prices. Let’s see what you get for your money which didn’t fall in your lap. The Venue Pro is powered by a Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor, which combined with the 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of internal memory makes it quite a tough opponent for other phones. It also has 3G capabilities, WiFi (802.11 b/g) and of course Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. As to the experience created for the user, the device comes equipped with a 4.1 inch WVGA Amoled multi-touch capacitive screen, and Gorilla glass for durability and scratch resistance, it sounds like a really user friendly phone. In addition to the brilliant touch screen, it also features a sliding full qwerty keyboard.
Among these features and many more you will be glad to know that it has a 5 megapixel cam and a LED flash which helps the user create vivid memories in both photos and videos. Even more, the Venue Pro has been „gifted” with geo tagging, touch focus and digital zoom functionality. If you take a close look at the specs on this device, you will find it to be quite a beast, and a rival not to be trifled with. I for one, must admit to be a litte bias to handheld devices that come equipped with a good touch screen and also a qwerty keyboard, because let’s face it, it’s better to have options.
