You’ve probably heard by now about the upcoming / rumored renewed version of the HTC Evo 4G that is heading for Sprint. The smartphone was rumored online under names such as HTC Knight, HTC Speedy and HTC Evo Shift 4G. The HTC Knight is still unconfirmed, but the rumors spreading online regarding its specs turned some heads.
For instance, the Android 2.2 powered device is supposed to hide a QWERTY keyboard under its 3.7 inch display, and we may very well believe as SprintUser forums, leaked some pics of the HTC Knight / Speedy / Evo Shift 4G in a wide open position, revealing a slide-out keyboard in sight. It kind of resembles the one seen on the G2, but the keys look a bit rubberized. We’ve been previously able to catch a glimpse at Sprint’s next addition to their Froyo lineup of smartphones as a bunch of pictures revealing different colors of the upcoming Knight popped on earlier this month.
From what we’ve been able to gather so far, the HTC Knight / Speedy is going to use the Android 2.2 Froyo OS. HTC’s Sense UI is most likely going to be present as well. The 3.7 inch 800×480 Super LCD screen, a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and an 8 MP camera are the star specs, but the Shift Evo 4G is also said to support WiMax. Once again, all these are simply rumors, official specs are yet to surface. The phone is estimated to get a January 6 release date, but meanwhile all we can do is just wait for Sprint to unveil the mystery that surrounds the upcoming HTC Knight.
