Adobe Reader for Android: one fast mobile PDF reader

Now I don’t know if you Android fans out there know this, but even though your Android smartphone might already have a PDF opener/reader, Adobe has recently launched a free Adobe Reader for Android application.

Unfortunately for some of you, Adobe’s Android Reader app (free to download from the Android Market) will only work if you have Android 2.1 or above and if your phone has at least a 550 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM. But don’t worry, Adobe Reader won’t just suck your phone’s processing power. Adobe brags that this is the fastest PDF reader available at the moment for Android.

In addition, you will also get multi-touch gesture support (you know… like that pinch-and-zoom that everyone loves, double tap zoom and flick panning and scrolling) and a automatic content wrapper for smaller screens called the reflow mode. But I guess that in the end, speed is what matters with Adobe’s PDF reader for Android.

So let me put it this way: If you are using your smartphone to copy at that exam that you were supposed to study for when you were out there rocking the clubs… (I know some PDF books/courses can get pretty big and your average reader takes too long to open it), the Adober Reader for Android is what you should be using.
