Creative’s ZiiO 7″ now available for $250

These Android-based tablets just keep coming, don’t they ? This time we’ll talk about Creative’s 7-Inch Ziio tablet, which runs on Android 2.1. It costs $250, which seems like a decent price, especially when other tablets, clearly no better than this one, are priced about the same. Furthermore, you don’t have to tie yourself up to any contract whatsoever.

OK, so let’s talk a little about what ZiiO has to offer. I’ve already mentioned that it sports a 7-inch screen, with a 480×800 resolution. The white tablet comes with either 8GB or 16 GB of internal memory (with a memory card, you can obtain as much as 32 GB). Ziio features the Creative ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Applications Processor, but don’t expect too much of it. ZiiO also has support for Bluetooth and WiFi and features a front-facing camera (VGA).

The new Creative ZiiO tablet is very compact, weighing 400 g, so portability should not be an issue here. One of the best features of the tablet (and Creative has made sure the public learns it) is the audio quality, offered by the Pure Android Audio application which ensures audio-enhancing options, such as X-FI, apt-X and Bluetooth connectivity. Creative promises you’ll be able to enjoy excellent wireless audio streamed from the tablet to compatible Bluetooth speakers or headphones.
