uTorrent 3.0 Alpha

Torrents are one of today’s most used shortcuts to lots of downloadable things and the battle between torrent clients is getting more intense by the day. One of the most popular Torrents is uTorrent, which has now released its new 3.0 Alpha version.

As an answer to clients’ demand, uTorrent now supports a web interface that allows users to access and control transfers through PC web browsers. Furthermore, this new feature is now available for other devices, like the iPad and most Android powered devices. This new 3.0 Alpha version comes to improve the browser support. In order to be able to access this feature, one must create a user name and password by going to Options – Preferences – Web and then follow the instructions. All these are available due to the new Falcon client that has been included in this release of uTorrent. For those not willing to download and try out an Alpha version of the program, the alternative solution is the direct installation of the Falcon client. In the meantime, the Griffin branch of this new project will allow users to add more apps, extensions and other interesting features.

Although this is still an Alpha release and probably still has some glitches that need fixing, the new additions to uTorrent make it an even better Torrent client. As those who’ve user uTorrent by now know, it is one of the easiest to use clients, combining both a very intuitive interface and plenty of optional settings to mess with, for those willing to do so. With it now available for iPad and Android, we should expect another growth in popularity of this more than fair client.
